A purpose-built safe deposit box facilities has opened in Cork.

Merrion Vaults has opened their Cork branch in Fota Retail Park, located less than 10 mins from the Jack Lynch Tunnel.

A spokesperson for Merrion Vaults said: “We have ample parking right outside the front door enabling customers to easily access our premises. The branch offers 18 different sizes of safety deposit boxes from as little as €280 per year. That is less than €6 for complete peace of mind."

Merrion Vaults now operate 15 branches across Ireland, the UK and Spain.

Part of The Vaults Group, it is an Irish-owned company founded in 2013 offering state of the art security with 24-hour monitoring.

The spokesperson added: “We offer a purpose-built vault, protected by cutting edge security and sophisticated biometric technology, which surpasses the standards set by banks. We offer rental of safe deposit boxes in a variety of sizes and rental periods to meet all requirements. The smaller boxes are ideal for the storage of jewellery, cash, valuable coins and computer back-up discs.”

The spokesperson added: “The mid-range boxes are designed to keep papers, house deeds and other important documents. The larger boxes are ideal for stamp dealers and to hold larger amounts of paperwork and artwork which need to be stored securely. We open seven days per week, 363 days per year offering our customers unrivalled access to their valuable possessions.”

All their branches also trade in precious metal bullion including gold, silver and platinum through its sister company Merrion Gold, which holds a wide range of gold, silver and platinum bars in stock for immediate collection, ranging in a variety of sizes from 1 gram to 1KG.

In addition, Merrion Gold also stocks a wide range of coins, including Krugerrands, Canadian Maples, Britannias and American Eagles.
