Children’s triathlon to take place in Kinsale

Grab the kids’ wetsuits and helmets as the Kinsale Kidathlon is back this weekend.

This unique, volunteer-led children's triathlon is organised by Kinsale Triathlon Club. For over a decade, the Kinsale Kidathlon has set itself apart with its inclusive 'fun over competition' philosophy. Designed to help kids fall in love with moving in the great outdoors, the event is tailored for young participants aged 6 to 15, with dedicated age categories taking on a swim, bike, and run.

Speaking about the event, Race Director and Kinsale Triathlon Club member, Andrew Lockington said: “Our club and this event is run entirely on volunteer power; it is great to bring everyone together to cheer on the children for this special day. Every child gets to feel like a champion, as they should! We can’t wait to welcome families back to the beach on 19 July.”

The event will take place on Sunday 19 July at the Dock Beach, near Kinsale town.

Registration should be completed before 6pm on Friday 17 July to secure your child's spot for €15. To register visit triathlonireland.com.
