Blarney garda killed in County Clare crash
Tributes have been paid to Sergeant Andrew O’Riordan of Mayorstone Garda Station, Limerick. He was killed in a car crash in Co. Clare on Sunday 26 July.
O’Riordan, originally from Blarney, was aged in his 50s.
The driver of the car was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick to receive treatment for serious injuries.
Gardaí in Limerick have expressed their condolences to his family.
“Sergeant Andrew O‘Riordain was a well-respected member of An Garda Síochána who served proudly for 28 years in the Limerick area. Our sympathies go out to Andrew’s wife Stephanie and their five children, parents Pat and Kathleen and sister Joanne.”
He will repose in St Peter’s Church in Broadford on Thursday 30 July from 5pm-7pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday 31 July at 12pm, followed by a burial in the church grounds.
