Cork’s BoolaBoom have announced a second gig at the Guinness Cork Jazz festival after selling out their 600 capacity headline show at the Savoy this Friday night.

The 22 piece jazz-house act will be doing a special free performance at The Pav on Sunday afternoon, giving fans another opportunity to catch one of Cork’s most exciting live acts during the weekend. The weekend marks the second time the band has sold out the Savoy this year having played the venue’s re-opening night in February.

The band has become a firm festival favourite in the last two years having played All Together Now, Electric Picnic, Forest Fest, Beyond the Pale and Kaleidoscope – along with another sold out show at Dublin’s Sugar Club last April.

BoolaBoom have built a following with their jazz-infused reworkings of dance classics, including Faithless’s ‘Insomnia’, Nightcrawlers’ ‘Push the Feeling On’ and Moloko’s ‘Sing It Back’. However, the band are also seeing success with their own originals, with their track, ‘Shuffle’, featuring on BB6’s Craig Charles show, and their new release ‘Too Much’ featuring as track of the week on 2FM’s Dan Hegarty Show.

Doors at The Pav will open at 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon and entry will be a first-come-first-serve basis with no advance tickets available.
