Members of LINC are delighted to welcome a new project called WorkLINC which will address barriers to employment faced by lesbian and bisexual women.

Get really LINC-ed in

Imagine the solace of a good book, a comfortable couch and freshly brewed coffee as you take a break from the rush of everyday life or imagine a raucous game of table tennis, laughing over lunch or the comfort of an understanding smile.

If our imaginings take us to the warmer months, we’re out in the back garden catching up or savouring the smell of a smoky barbecue. That’s what LINC is all about.

LINC is an NGO based in Cork and has been serving the community of lesbian and bisexual (LB) women of Ireland for over 20 years now.

LINC has recently been granted funding from Rethink Ireland for three years which will see the development of a new project called WorkLINC that will address barriers to employment faced by LB women. They are currently recruiting so get in touch if you would like to know more.

When Covid-19 restrictions threatened to keep the community apart, LINC moved most services online and worked hard to keep people connected so while the women bring their own coffee and reach them from the couch at home, they’re still here; still laughing and talking and taking care of one another.

For those who don’t like connecting online, Silver Scribblers is a community project that will connect older lesbian and bisexual women with LINC community members; the participants will be matched with a pen-pal and write and receive a monthly letter! If this sounds like it might be for you, someone you know or if any of the information above appeals to you please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

LINC, at 11a White Street in Cork city T12 D36W, can be phoned on 021-4808600 or emails can be sent to info@linc.ie.
