A day to talk, connect and heal in Midleton
A free community event focused on mental health and wellbeing will return to Midleton this August.
Now in its third year, Together at Fair Green takes place on Sunday 24 August, from 12-4pm at Fair Green.
The day promises a vibrant mix of live entertainment, fun activities, interactive workshops, and more than 30 local organisations offering resources and information on mental health and wellbeing. The goal is to create an open, supportive environment that promotes connection and celebrates community spirit.
The event aims to build stronger connections and support networks within the community.
Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr Mary Linehan Foley said: “Cork County Council is proud to continue supporting this important event. Together at Fair Green provides a meaningful space where people can connect, learn, and support one another.”
Declan Cronin, Head of Mental Health Services, HSE South West, added: “We’re breaking down the stigma and ensuring everyone in East Cork knows where to turn for mental health support.”
Martin Ryan, Suicide Prevention Officer with the HSE, said: “It’s a living network of hope, recovery and practical supports. My hope is that everyone leaves knowing they’re not alone.”
Adrianna Hegarty, President of Midleton Chamber, highlighted the power of sharing stories: “It’s a day for connection, compassion, and celebration.”
Niall O’Callaghan, Healthy Ireland Coordinator, said: “This event reflects the power of local collaboration and shared purpose.”
The event is part of the Connecting for Life Cork programme and promotes positive mental health and aims to reduce stigma and suicide across the region.
It is a collaboration between Cork County Council, HSE South West, Connecting for Life, Midleton & Area Chamber of Commerce, Midleton Family Resource Centre, and SECAD.
