Regular exercise has incredible benefits for all
Choose physical activities you enjoy and make them fun.
That’s the advice from Nicole Butler, founder of BASE Fitness Health, a personal training gym in Frankfieldm during Irish Heart Month. Nicole has worked in the fitness industry for more 12 years, helping people of all ages and abilities get fitter, stronger, and healthier.
She explained: “That might mean going for a walk with a friend, joining a group class, or starting a light strength routine. Movement doesn’t have to be overwhelming, even small steps make a big difference. Aim to include some form of movement every day, and try to add muscle-strengthening exercises at least two days per week. This can include lifting weights, yoga, or simple bodyweight exercises. If you’re unsure where to start, seeking guidance from a qualified professional will give you confidence and support.”
Why is this important? Regular cardiovascular exercise has incredible benefits for your heart and overall health. It can:
· Strengthens your heart and protects your health
· Helps to lower (and maintain) your blood pressure, cholesterol and bodyweight
· Reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke
· Improves your sleep and energy
· Helps increase mood and can lower stress levels
· Most importantly, staying active improves your quality of life, helping you remain independent and able to keep doing the things you love.
Nicole added: “At BASE, our mission is to educate and coach people to live healthier, stronger, and fitter lives.
