Open Streets comes to Ballincollig this weekend
This Sunday Ballincollig is set to come alive with a special open streets event taking place from 2–4pm.
Organised by the Ballincollig Business Association, with support from Cork City Council and Ballincollig’s Sustainable Transport Group, part of the town’s main street will be closed to traffic and transformed into a fun festival space.
The afternoon promises something for everyone and celebrates the best of Ballincollig’s community life.
Local choirs and music groups will provide live music, children can get involved in drama activities and sports demonstrations, while community and sports clubs will be on hand with displays and activities. A variety of food stalls and local businesses will also take part, adding to the festival atmosphere.
The event builds on the success of Ballincollig’s annual St Patrick’s Day Parade and Christmas Lights celebrations, which draw large crowds and highlights the town’s strong sense of pride and togetherness.
Organisers say Open Streets will offer another opportunity for people of all ages to come together, enjoy free entertainment, and celebrate everything Ballincollig has to offer.
