Find your voice as Toastmasters rolls into town
Want to learn how to speak publicly with confidence?
Toastmasters International’s public-speaking bus is coming to Cork on 10 October, stopping at The Imperial Hotel from 12-2pm. The event will give people a chance to see how Toastmasters can help anyone become a more confident communicator, public speaker, and leader.
For nearly 100 years, Toastmasters has helped millions of people worldwide find their voice. Founded in 1924, the non-profit has transformed the lives of almost eight million members by empowering them to communicate more effectively and build leadership skills.
At the heart of Toastmasters are its club meetings—safe, supportive spaces where members practise prepared speeches, impromptu talks (known as ‘table topics’), and take on roles like timekeeping and evaluating.
Alongside the club experience, members follow a structured education programme called Pathways, which develops communication and leadership skills step by step. The more people get involved, the faster their confidence grows.
Today, Toastmasters boasts over 260,000 members in 145 countries. And whether you join an existing club or start a new one, the format is proven to help people push past nerves, sharpen their delivery, and speak with clarity.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to banish the fear of public speaking or simply improve how you get your message across, 10 October is your chance to see Toastmasters in action.
