Booze and shoes seized

Booze, tools, laundry detergent and vehicles were seized on Tuesday following the search of a house in the Ballyhea area of Charleville.

Gardaí from the Cork County Crime Division, assisted by members of the Cork North West Community Engagement Area, conducted the search under warrant at a domestic residence as part of ongoing investigations into multiple incidents of theft in the region.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “As a result of the searches, a large quantity of stolen items exceeding the value of €9,300 has been recovered. Two vehicles have also been seized.”

Two men, both aged in their 20s, have been arrested and conveyed to a garda station in Co. Cork.

As of going to print they were still detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

“Investigations are ongoing,” added the spokesperson.
