First aid kits for Cork Con

A rugby club on Cork city’s southside was the recipient of six fully equipped first aid kits this week, in an ongoing effort to protect community health.

Cork Constitution FC received the kits from McCauley Pharmacy Douglas. The donation will support player welfare across Cork Constitution FC's teams, ensuring quick access to essential medical supplies during training sessions and match days.

The kits are likely to come in handy as Cork Constitution’s All-Ireland League campaign continues on Saturday with an away fixture against Dublin’s Clontarf FC. They currently sit in fourth place in Division 1A.

Elaine Rahilly, Store Manager of McCauley Pharmacy Douglas, said the initiative reflects the pharmacy’s strong ties to the local community, and its ongoing focus on community health, supporting practical initiatives that help keep people safe and well in Douglas and the wider Cork area.

“Community health is at the heart of what we do at McCauley Pharmacy Douglas, and that extends beyond our pharmacy doors.

“Cork Constitution FC plays a vital role in the local community, and we’re delighted to support the club by providing first aid kits that will help keep players safe and well throughout the season,” she said.

The donation of the kits was also attended by Cork Constitution, Munster, and Ireland legend Donncha O’Callaghan.

Cork Constitution FC Vice President Brian Fitzgerald said the club greatly appreciated the donation.

“On behalf of everyone at Cork Constitution FC, I would like to sincerely thank McCauley Pharmacy Douglas for their generous support.

“Having high-quality first aid kits readily available is essential for any sporting organisation, and this contribution will be of great benefit to our players and coaches in our youth section in particular,” he said.
