Cork design company aims for European glory
Cork vehicle development company has been shortlisted in the regional finals of a prestigious global awards.
Hibra Design, who specialise in clean technology power, has been shortlisted in the Greentech Startup of the Year category of the Global Startup Awards (GSA) - Western Europe regional competition.
The only Irish startup company across all the startup categories, Hibra Design is a regional finalist, moving forward to compete for the title in the Western Europe region.
Hibra Design CEO Mike Keane said: “Having won the 2024 Irish National Start Up award for Product and Manufacturing, we are thrilled to now see our achievements be held up against the best in the world.
“We develop completely new, bespoke vehicles to client specifications and we also re-engineer existing vehicles with battery electric technology for fleet operators. We provide state-of-the-art solutions which offer improved vehicle performance, whilst showing a commitment to both clean-technology and circular economy principles. Being named a regional finalist by the Global Startup Awards is a powerful validation of this commitment,” he added.
The Global Startup Awards celebrate the people and organisations building the next generation of innovation across the world.
Finalists are selected by an expert jury sourced from across 154 countries. As a Western Europe regional finalist, Hibra Design advances to the regional round, where category winners will be announced on 18 February. Winners from each region will progress to the Global Finals in Valetta, Malta in 7-8 May.
