Bandon man Graham Norton with Taylor Swift and Irish actor Donal Gleeson in Swift’s new music video.

Cork celebs make Swift video appearance

There’s a distinctly Cork feel off of American pop Icon Taylor Swift’s newest music video with a couple of familiar Leeside faces making an appearance.

Both Hollywood superstar Cillian Murphy and talk show titan and Bandon local Graham Norton appear in the video for the song ‘Opalite’ which was released on Friday.

While Murphy’s input is limited to a voiceover and his face appearing on a billboard, Norton appears in the flesh as a salesman.

The video also features Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson who stars alongside Swift as her love interest, complete with a somewhat clunky dance routine.

At the end of the video, a clip of the Graham Norton show rolls in which Murphy, Gleeson, and Swift are all guests. When Murphy compliments Gleeson for his dancing scene in US sitcom ‘The Paper’, Gleeson responds by saying: “I’m hoping to get into a Taylor Swift music video.”

‘Opalite’ is the second single from Swift’s latest album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, which was released on 3 October. The album’s first single, ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, is the star’s longest-running number-one song on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Cillian Murphy’s new film ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ is set to premiere in Netflix on 20 March.
