Cork students set to go head-to-head
Cork’s most innovative and enterprising students are getting ready to compete for the opportunity to represent the city on a national level.
The Student Enterprise Programme, Ireland’s largest student enterprise initiative, has officially announced the Regional Finals for Cork city schools, taking place on 10 March at UCC.
Hosted by the Local Enterprise Office Cork City, the event will offer a platform for students to showcase the culmination of research and work that began last September, reflecting the dedication, creativity, and business acumen they have developed throughout the year.
Teams will present their products and business concepts to a panel of expert judges, demonstrating strengths in marketing, financial planning, innovation, and customer engagement.
Dr Niall O’Keeffe, Head of the Local Enterprise Office Cork City, said: “This event is a fantastic showcase of the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of Cork’s young people. It’s inspiring to see students bring their ideas to life and gain real-world experience in running their own businesses.”
Event highlights include presentations from top student-run businesses across Cork city schools; judging and constructive feedback from business and industry experts; and recognition of outstanding innovation, teamwork, and business achievement.
The regional finals are a key milestone in the Student Enterprise Programme, which welcomes students from Junior Cycle, Intermediate Cycle and Senior Cycle.
