Cork musical duo David Punch and Kevin Walsh.

Music duo to headline charity fundraiser

A duo of talented Cork musicians who are both on the autism spectrum will headline a concert this month to raise money for a local charity close to their hearts.

Cork singer-songwriters Kevin Walsh and David Punch will be teaming up on 28 March at the Kino in aid of The Rainbow Club Cork.

The pair first met on Virgin Media’s ‘The Assembly Ireland’, a groundbreaking show in which well-known Irish personalities such as Ryan Tubridy and An Taoiseach Micheál Martin are interviewed by a team of autistic and neurodivergent reporters.

As well as grilling their interviewees on all kinds of topics, the show also featured a musical element with Kevin and David performing several songs across the entire series.

The concert later this month will feature a setlist of favourite covers and originals from both artists, including Walsh’s new single ‘Seize the Moment’ releasing on 13 March.

Walsh and Punch will be backed by Aaron Russ on keys, Dave Corkery on guitar, Rob Carlile on bass, and Charlie Waits on drums.

Special guests on the night include Erin + The Lens and Rebecca McCarthy, another member of ‘The Assembly Ireland’ who performed ‘The Greatest Show’ for Ryan Tubridy.

All funds raised will go to The Rainbow Club, a charity supporting autistic children, teens, young adults, and their families by bridging the gap in services and activities so they can reach their full potential.

Tickets for the event are €25 (plus online booking fee) and can be brought from Eventbrite.ie.
