Cork company triumphs at key beauty awards
There was cause for celebration as Kieran Walsh of National Beauty Distribution was announced as a winner of Business Director of the Year at the Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards 2026, which took place on 19 April at the InterContinental Dublin.
The awards brought together some of the best of the Irish beauty, hair and spa industries to recognise excellence in business, innovation and leadership.
Taking home the top honour in Business Director of the Year, sponsored by Eden Beauty Group, Kieran Walsh impressed the judges by having grown an exceptional business. Investing heavily in the local economy, and building a standout brand, set him apart.
CEO and Founder of National Beauty Distribution, Kieran Walsh said: “I actually found this industry by accident 15 years ago, and every year since I have fallen more and more in love with it. The people you meet - business owners across small, medium, and large companies - you are constantly learning, and that’s what makes it so rewarding.
“I’m incredibly proud to receive this award, but it’s not something I see as mine alone. We have an amazing team of over 80 people back in Cork, and everything we have achieved is down to their passion, commitment, and hard work. I wouldn’t be here without them.
“To be recognised at a national level is a real honour, and it reflects the collective effort behind the business, as well as the incredible partners and salons we work with every day.”
The Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards celebrate the very best across the professional beauty, spa and wellness industry in Ireland, shining a spotlight on businesses and individuals who are pushing boundaries and driving business excellence. The event was hosted by Robert Broderick with winners selected by a panel of respected industry experts. Along with a coveted trophy, winners receive extensive editorial coverage across Professional Beauty/Hairdressers Journal Ireland’s digital platforms and magazine.
Entrants were scored by a panel of independent industry expert judges, interviews and business inspections to ensure standards are kept rigorously high.
This success highlights the important role local salons play in supporting high streets, creating employment and fostering strong community connections through exceptional service.
