Brew can do it!
A Cork business will compete with the country’s best as one of the finalists of the National Enterprise Awards on Thursday.
Blarney Brewing Company will represent Local Enterprise Office (LEO), Cork City at the prestigious awards taking place today, Thursday, in the Round Room at the Mansion House, Dublin.
Founded in 2023, the brewery aims to operate an off-grid zero waste production facility by 2029, producing the world’s most sustainably produced beer.
Today, Blarney Brewing Company’s portfolio includes Hydro Lager, Hydro Lite, Muskerry IPA, Pale Irish Ale, Mahony’s Red Ale, and the Blarney Squared seasonal range.
The brewery recently appointed Coman’s Beverages, Ireland’s largest drinks distributor, as its national distribution partner with an aim to rollout of its popular canned range to outlets across the country.
Speaking ahead of today’s awards ceremony, brewery founder Pat Falvey described the sense of pride felt by him and his colleagues to be recognised on a national level.
He said: “This acknowledgement reflects the dedication, passion, and hard work of our entire team.
“As a proud Irish brewery, we are committed to showcasing the quality, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that exists within our sector.”
This is the 26th year of the Local Enterprise Office initiative, which was won last year by health tech business, SPRYT, supported by Local Enterprise Office, Monaghan.

The finalists compete for a total prize fund of €80,000 and along with an overall National Enterprise of the Year winner there are categories for Best Start-Up, Best Export Business, an Innovation Award, a Digital Award, a Green Award and a Female Entrepreneur Award.
