New changes to three bus routes

Further updates to bus routes in Cork city have been announced across three routes, the 207, 212, and 213, which came into effect on Sunday 28 June.

The changes were made in part to facilitate Cork City Council’s St Patrick’s Street Pilot Scheme, which involves decluttering and planting on the city’s main street.

The 207 will no longer serve Stop 240491 at St Patrick’s Street, and has moved to Stop 241721, near Merchant's Quay Shopping Centre.

The route was moved to Stop 240491 from its original stopping point at the beginning of June.

Buses on the 212 will no longer service Stop 299001 on Merchant’s Quay or Stop 216581 on MacCurtain Street.

A new stop on Parnell Place, Stop 216481 has been added, and the route will now also operate along a new jounrey between Parnell Place and Kent Station, travelling via Parnell Place, Lower Oliver Plunkett Street, Michael Collins Bridge, Ship Street, Alfred Street, and Kent Station.

Meanwhile, the buses on the 213 will no longer serve Stop 241721 on St Patrick’s Street.

The route was similarly moved to Stop 241721 from its original stopping point at the beginning of June.

Two additional stops have been added - Stop 216481 on Parnell Place and Stop 213231 on Merchant’s Quay. However, the overall route remains unchanged.

This has been done to “maintain convenient access to the city centre,” according to Cork City Council.

The St Patrick’s St pilot scheme will run until 14 June 2027.
