Cork hosts new music series
A series showcasing some of Ireland’s top musical talent, filmed in Cork’s Cyprus Avenue, will be returning to TG4 for its second series next week.
‘Buille’, a live-music series, will return on Wednesday 15 July at 8pm and is set to stream on the TG4 Player and TG4’s Youtube Channel.
The series is produced by Tyrone Productions for TG4, and was recorded live across six special shows in Cyprus Avenue on Oliver Plunkett Street.
It is hosted by ‘How to Gael’ and Today FM broadcaster Louise Cantillon alongside musician and member of the Irish funk group Grooveline, Tarach Ó Snodaigh.
The series combines live performance, artist interviews, backstage access, and “the unique atmosphere of Cyprus Avenue to create a fresh and vibrant television experience for audiences across Ireland and beyond”, according to TG4.
Audiences will be treated to some of the most exciting names in Irish music today, including Le Boom, Tolü Makay, Grooveline, SexyTadgh, Chasing Abbey, Huartan, Toshín, David Keenan, Joshua Burnside, and Rita Lynn.
Cantillon and Ó Snodaigh said the series is “a celebration of the incredible wave of musical talent emerging across Ireland right now. We wanted to create a series that captures the atmosphere, excitement, and cultural importance of live music while giving artists a platform that feels ambitious, modern, and distinctly Irish.”
A spokesperson for TG4 said the series “promises unforgettable performances, standout collaborations and the next generation of Irish music stars”.
“Buille has been described as ‘Top of the Pops meets the best of new Irish music’, delivering a bold, stylish, youthful, and energetic showcase unlike anything currently on Irish television.
“With a mix of Irish-language culture, contemporary music and high-energy live performance, Built reflects TG4’s continued commitment to supporting Irish artists and creating innovative entertainment programming for new audiences.
“Buille is set to become the must-watch music series of 2026,” they said.
