A taste of the best of Brazil in Cork

Irish superfruit company MoBerry has announced a new partnership with Corrib Oil that will see its premium açaí offering introduced to the convenience retail sector, beginning with pilot locations in Loughrea, Co. Galway, and Model Farm Road in Cork.

The partnership represents a milestone for the Galway-based business as it continues to expand the availability of authentic Brazilian açaí in Ireland through innovative retail formats.

Headquartered at the Bia Innovator Campus in Athenry, Co. Galway, MoBerry employs 10 people and has established itself as one of Ireland's leading specialist superfruit brands, supplying retail and foodservice customers with a growing range of açaí and tropical fruit products.

The initial trial will introduce MoBerry's new Açaí Soft Serve concept to Corrib Oil customers, with the two companies exploring opportunities to expand the offering across Corrib Oil's wider retail network in the future.

Produced using authentic Brazilian açaí and crafted in Ireland, the new format has been developed to make the increasingly popular superfruit more accessible to consumers in everyday retail settings.

Founded by Johnny Molloy, MoBerry has built its reputation around sourcing high-quality Brazilian açaí while developing innovative products for the Irish and international markets. Alongside açaí, the company also supplies products including dragon fruit, mango, acerola and spirulina across retail and foodservice channels.

Announcing the partnership, Johnny Molloy, Founder and CEO of MoBerry, said: "This partnership with Corrib Oil represents an exciting new chapter for MoBerry. Over recent years we have seen growing consumer interest in açaí and superfruits, and this collaboration allows us to introduce that experience to a much broader audience through one of Ireland's leading convenience retail networks.

“As a Galway company, we're particularly pleased to be partnering with another ambitious Irish business that shares our focus on innovation, quality and customer experience.

Beginning with these two locations gives us an opportunity to understand customer demand and, we hope, build towards a wider rollout across the Corrib Oil network."

Gillian Morris, Head of Retail Operations and Sales, Corrib Oil, said: "At Corrib Oil, we are continually looking at how we evolve our food and convenience offering to meet changing customer tastes and expectations. MoBerry has developed an innovative product that complements our existing range while introducing something genuinely different to our customers.

“We are delighted to partner with another Galway-founded business and look forward to seeing how customers respond during the initial trial as we explore opportunities to expand the concept further across our retail network."

The partnership reflects both companies' shared commitment to innovation within the convenience retail sector and their ambition to bring new food experiences to Irish consumers.
