A Cork city retailer recently picked up a major retail award with excellent customer service being a key reason for the win.

Specsavers Opera Lane has been awarded the prestigious Optician Store of the Year at the Retail Excellence Ireland Awards on Saturday evening at the Lyrath Estate Hotel.

As the longest running and respected retail awards programme in Ireland, the Elavon Retail Excellence Ireland Awards recognise the very best in Irish retail, shining a spotlight on outstanding retailers, visionary leaders, and exceptional teams who are setting the standard for excellence across the retail sector in Ireland.

Specsavers Opera Lane emerged victorious following a comprehensive national judging process, where the store was evaluated on store appearance, visual merchandising, and customer service, with the knowledgeable team at Opera Lane thoroughly impressing the judges.

A locally owned and run business led by husband and wife directors John and Claire Morrin, Specsavers Opera Lane has been a trusted fixture in the Cork community for over 35 years, having first opened its doors in September 1990.

The award recognises the team’s ongoing investment in state-of-the-art eye and hear care technology, as well as their dedication to clinical excellence and customer care.
