Putting on a spritz

The weather has been playing a blinder for the last while and there is nothing nicer than coming in and cleansing off the sun cream and impurities and getting down to business with cleaning your skin.

Lately I have loved using a more enriching cleanser followed by a spritz. Sustainability is really something we are becoming more aware of. Toners, the second step of skincare after the double cleanse, have come a long way. Traditionally toners were seen quite often as ‘stripping’ the skin but the new generation have invented a whole new way of delivering vitamins and minerals to your skin. Here are three brands spritzing up a storm in 2020!

Eminence is an organic brand that has recently launched a Mangosteen Revitalising Mist (€45). Escape to paradise with every spritz of this invigorating facial mist. A combination of antioxidant-packed mangosteen, energizing ribose and pore-refining red clover work in harmony to revitalise the skin. It smells gorgeous and leaves the skin bright.

Mangosteen is an antioxidant-rich super fruit that helps the appearance of skin and minimises the look of environmental stress, all while promoting natural radiance.

Eminence’s Birch Water Purifying Essence (€58) is another winner. Replenish skin with a lightweight essence that restores moisture levels. Birch water purifies the skin while botanical collagen increases elasticity and improves barrier function - an essential step that helps the skin better absorb and retain the benefits of subsequent products.

I love this one as a prequel to a mask. Eminence plants a tree every time you purchase one of its retail products, and has planted 14 million trees so far!

Holos is a brand I have had a love affair with for many years, especially its fantastic Supernatural Activity Pre & Probiotic Spritz (€33). It has pH balanced good bacteria to maintain skin immunity. Here is the science/super bit - it contains inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide, a prebiotic from chicory root, sugar beet and wheat, lactobacillus ferment lysate and leuconostoc radish root ferment lysate, a probiotic from radish.

This protects against inflammation, rosacea and acne. It will help to reduce ï¬ne lines and aids in repair of the skin. For a sensory effect it is infused with herbal flowers, plant oils and essential oils of frankincense, lavender and sweet orange.

The most famous spritz is the Yon-Ka Mist. The 2020 edition of Lotion Yon-Ka is a product developed by women, in packaging designed by a woman, intended for all women. This year, Yon-Ka wanted to give its famous toner a twist. For the 2020 limited edition, the theme is French chic.

Since 2014, this bestseller has been beautifully reinterpreted by female artists who are particularly sensitive to nature, grace and elegance. The brand hired Lovisa Burfitt, one of the most renowned Scandinavian fashion illustrators and a resident of France. Lovisa was able to capture the essence of the brand. Lotion Yon-Ka is a beauty water that has won over everyone whose skin craves natural ingredients and a luxurious experience. Delicately applied to the face through a long, continuous, even diffusion, this phyto-aromatic fine beauty mist, (€35) infuses the skin with the famous Yon-Ka Quintessence while leaving behind a lovely fragrance.

The Quintessence is a valuable blend of five beneficial essential oils (lavender, geranium, rosemary, cypress, and thyme) that gives the face a blast of energy. Skin is refreshed, toned, and rebalanced, primed for the daily skincare routine. Yon-Ka utilises a supply of natural ingredients with respect for biodiversity and people to limit the environmental impact thanks to sustainable supply chains.
