Part one of how to keep meals exciting with healthy food swaps

By Cian Minihane

Are you running towards the end of January, or are you limping toward it?

It’s a possible trigger time for loads of us. Either you’re totally flying it with the resolutions, or you’re seriously flagging and may even have fallen off the wagon.

Both of which are okay. While changing your lifestyle and achieving results, you are bound to have dips.

One of the biggest dips for most of my clients is their approach to food choices, trying to cut out every single thing they ever enjoyed all at once and then, after a stressful day a couple of weeks later, the inevitable binge happens.

Today I want to run you through some very easy switches you can try and use this weekend to make healthy eating less boring and still enjoy the same snacks or condiments you have always loved. Now there are just four examples of very easy swaps that are in the image attached here.

The big coaching tip I want to get you all thinking about though today is that you can’t run away from the naughty foods. You can’t avoid meals out, takeaways or bag of crisps.

You will want and have them and can’t fully eliminate them from life forever; the all or nothing approach is not a lifelong approach.

The trick is having these kinds of food factored in already, so they’re not a guilty impulse that then makes you feel worthless and out of control. Plan for treats – factoring them in is a gamechanger and reduces regret, frustration and guilt.
