Course teaching tips to help with arthritis

A free course helping people with arthritis to better manage their condition will begin on Leeside next month.

The Living Well with Arthritis course was announced this week by charity group Arthritis Ireland. The course aims to give people with arthritis the tools and techniques to help them with managing pain and fatigue, reducing reliance on health professionals and medication, and improving their overall sense of well-being. The courses also offer participants the opportunity to connect with others living with the condition.

Sessions will begin on 13 September at the Northside Business Campus, Spring Lane, in Ballyvolane, taking place every Tuesday from 6-8.30pm.

The course consists of 6 weekly sessions and is suitable for people with any form of arthritis.

The Mayo Clinic says that arthritis is the swelling and tenderness of one or more joints. The main symptoms of arthritis are joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
