Academy being developed to attract the right talent

A Cork-based company has announced that it is to invest €1.2 million over the next 3 years to create an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy to help address the talent gap in the tech sector.

Getvisibility’s AI Academy is being developed to attract the right talent into the organisation, particularly for the machine learning engineering and data science department which is set to expand to up to 30 people during the said period.

These new positions, which consist of machine learning engineers, data scientists and a manager, will be fully flexible in terms of the ability to work remotely but are likely to be concentrated in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

While Getvisibility’s aim is to find data scientists with engineering expertise, the company is broadening its scope to find candidates who may be more junior or who may not have the engineering experience but a high level of academic expertise. It is also open to prospective employees who are transitioning from an adjacent field, such as probability theory or accounting.

As part of its AI Academy programme, people will be provided with the opportunity to train and upskill in data science in-house, with the additional support of AI to boost efficiency and plug any competency gaps. They will then have the option to remain within the data science department or join others, such as the product development team.

The AI Academy provides newly appointed team members the opportunity to acquire the relevant knowledge and data science experience through conferences, workshops, seminars, and postgrad fellowships. In turn, Getvisibility will create its own pool of data scientists working across various projects and studies.

From assembling evidence and processing it with data science to experimenting with software components or machine learning models, this team will allow Getvisibility to increase operational efficiency, boost business performance, and drive technological innovation.
