TFI Bikes pedalled their way to the festivities at Cork Bike Week in Fitzgerald's Park recently. The event proved to be a hit, featuring a lineup of DJs, competitions, spot prizes, giveaways, and free ice cream.

Lunchtime cyclists flocked to Fitzgerald's Park for the popular annual Lunch in the Park event. Many took advantage of TFI Bikes, which were handed out for free use to office workers in the Penrose Dock area so they could make it to the festivities.

Adding an element of friendly competition, the TFI Bikes team set up 2 specially designed stationary bikes on the day, 17 May. Members of the public took part in speed run competitions, to see who could cycle the furthest in two minutes. Winners were rewarded with One4All vouchers, bicycle bells, water bottles, and snoods. In total, over €600 worth of prizes were given away.

Jim Moore, Director of An Rothar Nua which operates the TFI Bikes scheme on behalf of the National Transport Authority of Ireland, said: “This was the perfect way to ring in the good weather - and Cork came out in style for it. A huge thanks to Cork City Council and the Cork Sports Partnership for organising this event with us, and of course a big thanks to everyone who turned out on a sunny Wednesday afternoon.”
