US fast-food franchise Wendy’s will launch in Mahon Point Shopping Centre.

Mahon Point to welcome first Irish Wendy’s

The first Irish branch of Wendy’s is set to open in Cork within the coming months.

The popular US fast-food chain will launch in Mahon Point Shopping Centre this October, creating 50 jobs and making Cork the first city in Ireland to welcome the global favourite.

Wendy’s is renowned for its square hamburgers, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the famous Frosty dessert — all of which will soon be on the menu in Cork. The new restaurant will be a major addition to the busy food court at Mahon Point, one of the county’s most visited retail destinations.

Justin Young, Centre Director of Mahon Point Shopping Centre said: “This opening is great news for Cork - not only does it create 50 new local jobs, but it also gives people the opportunity to enjoy the craveable, high-quality food Wendy’s is famous for.”

Wendy’s, which has more than 7,000 restaurants worldwide, is partnering with Corrib Oil to expand into Ireland.

The company has committed to using 100% fresh Irish beef and chicken across its menu.

Michael Dalton, Managing Director of Corrib Brands, said: “Corrib Oil’s partnership with Wendy’s not only brings a new face to the Rebel County, but unites two brands committed to quality, community, and exceptional customer experiences. This is just the beginning.”
