Learn to love the skin you're in

French skincare has always been a market leader in pharmacies and department stores in Ireland.

Two brands which are well known and loved are Nuxe and Clarins. Both have a heavy focus on plant botanicals and sustainability. Uriage is also well known for being a kind-to-budget range which is infused with thermal spa water from the French Alps and has a whole range of products for the face and body.

Nuxe Le Matin Des Possibles (€49.50) has a scent of orange blossom with cashmere musk overtones.

A decadent body oil based on a natural composition, Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse (€25), includes precious botanical oils to nourish, repair and beautify the face, body and hair in a single step. Enriched with vitamin E, it is free from mineral oils, silicone and preservatives. An inimitable texture and an addictive scent with a dry oil texture, its irresistible scent is a real delight, with top notes of orange blossom and bergamot, and coconut and vanilla.

It really is my favourite multitasker and is so well known now that I feel it needs no introduction!

The newest range that is available from Clarins is Nutri Lumiere. Extracts from the flower and fruit of the horse chestnut, along with other plant extracts, are present in the formulas of the Nutri-Lumière range which consists of four key products.

Nutri Lumière Day Cream (€109) is nourishing, revitalising day cream. It's a sensorial, melting, oil-infused cream that revitalises and intensely nourishes to restore radiance to nutrient-depleted skin.

Nutri Lumière Night Cream (€115) is a comforting, melting night cream that revitalises, nourishes and illuminates the skin overnight.

Nutri Lumière Day Fluid (€109) is a lightweight, non-greasy oil-infused emulsion that revitalises, nourishes and restores radiance to nutrient-depleted skin.

Nutri Lumière Treatment Essence (€65) is a renewing treatment essence and an essential daily skin care step for skin full of vitality.

The smooth, gentle lotion is perfectly absorbed by the skin, preparing it to fully benefit from products applied afterwards. Use morning and evening after cleansing/makeup removal.

For a quick cleanser, let’s get back down to basics with the Uriage Eau Micellaire Thermale range. Miscellar water is made up of miscelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. It removes makeup, dirt and impurities along with cleansing and moisturising your skin.

Thermal spring water from the Alps is the key ingredient unique to the Uriage dermatological skincare range and it is the basic ingredient in all the Uriage product ranges.

Uriage Thermal Micellar Water is perfectly suited for removing makeup from all skin types.

Soak a cotton pad with Eau Miscellaire Thermale (€15) and delicately wipe the face, eyes, and neck to cleanse in a single step.

No need to rinse.

It comes in three formulae, one for dry, one for sensitive and one for oily skin.
